At Indie Captain we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the basic personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our web application.

We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when registering or using our service. This includes:

Contact Details: First and last name, email address, and phone number.
Scheduling & Team Data: Information you input regarding schedules, appointments, and project management.
External Payment Handles: Public payment identifiers (such as Venmo handles) entered to assist with internal payment tracking.

Important Note on Payments: Our platform does not collect, store, or process banking information, credit card numbers, or financial passwords. Any financial transactions or payments made between users (e.g., via Venmo) occur entirely outside of our platform on third-party services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to operate, maintain, and provide the core functions of our application. Specifically:

To manage user accounts and facilitate scheduling and team tracking.
To display tracking information entered by users (such as amounts owed to coaches or producers).
To communicate with you regarding platform updates, support requests, or account notifications.

3. We Do Not Sell or Share Your Data

We respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, trade, or lease your personal contact information to third parties for marketing or any other commercial purposes.

We may only share information if legally required to do so by applicable law, court order, or government regulation.

4. Data Storage and Security

We implement administrative and technical security measures to safeguard your contact details from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, please note that no electronic transmission or cloud storage system is guaranteed to be 100% secure.

5. Third-Party Links & External Services

Our platform may display external links or payment handles (such as Venmo). We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or terms of any third-party websites or payment services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party tools you use.

6. Your Choices & Data Access

You may update or correct your profile details (including contact info and Venmo handles) directly within your account settings at any time. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, please do so in account settings.

Deleting your account removes your name and contact details from every team you were on and permanently deletes your login. Past expense entries you were part of remain in your captain's records so their books stay accurate, but are no longer attached to your name. This scrubbing happens immediately in our primary database. It does not reach every system that ever touched your data: error-tracking and email-delivery logs age out on our providers' own retention schedules, and database backups retain a pre-deletion copy for our backup window before that copy, too, is deleted.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or services. Any updates will be posted directly on this page with an updated “Effective Date.”
